"The two major aims of this study are:
1. Determine the frequency of defective mismatch repair and the specific genes involved in colon cancer derived from African American and Hispanic populations.
2. Estimate the frequency of somatic and germline alterations and define the spectrum of mutations in the various susceptibility loci among patients demonstrating defective mismatch repair."
