    "For more than two decades, Mamdooh Ghonenum, Ph.D. has been searching to unlock the mystery of why cancer cells weaken to the point of destruction after ingesting common everyday yeast. At Charles Drew University, Dr. Ghoneum, Ph.D. is well-known for his work as a cancer immunology researcher. He is currently Associate Professor and Chief of Research, Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is also Research Associate at the Department of Neurobiology, School of Medicine, UCLA. Dr. Ghoneum’s search to develop an effective non-toxic cancer treatment has met with tremendous success in initial stages of animal models. The findings have led to the design of critical clinical trials. Born in Egypt, Dr. Ghoneum, earned his Ph.D. at the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1980 and did his postdoctoral at UCLA, School of Medicine. Dr. Ghoneum is an internationally recognized immunologist who is an expert in the area of Cancer Immune Therapy. He holds three patents for inventing three biological response modifiers for the treatment of cancer. Dr. Ghoneum has published more than 90 articles and 130 abstracts, including 11 books in English and Japanese related to cancer immunology. In 2007, he was nominated for the annual $1 million prestigious Gotham Prize for Cancer Research."
